The Mata Encantada Beach Village is located in the Environmental Protection Area (APA) of Santo Antônio. The land, surrounded by the natural environment of a tropical rainforest, has direct access to Santo André beach. This beach has been rightfully classified by specialized tourism magazines as one of the ten most beautiful and exotic in Brazil.
The water at Santo André Beach (also known as Turtle Beach) is calm thanks to a coral reef located in front of the beach, making it ideal for swimming. Tourism in the region has been quite moderate. Santo André remains a pleasant and peaceful fishing village to this day. Leaving the bustling city of Porto Seguro, you will take a ferry to Santa Cruz Cabrália, crossing the Rio João de Tiba and stopping in Santo André.
In recent years, the importance of Santo André as a tourist destination has increased significantly. Here, high-level ecotourism has emerged, reflected in the excellent local infrastructure. For the provision of goods to guests during vacations, the village offers markets, food stores, boutiques, craft workshops, over a dozen restaurants, bistrots, and bars.
The region’s humid tropical climate is one of the most pleasant in the world. Guests at the Mata Encantada Beach Village enjoy the beach all year round. There is no typical rainy season in the region, but the months of August/September and January/February are the driest, while May tends to be a little rainier.
